How to remove (sexy.exe, porn.exe)virus from your system manually

The first rule of engagement is “Do not fret”. The virus is just a program (a software like notepad) running on your system. Your anti virus might not be able to remove it completely though it’s updated. Removing the virus is just as simple as closing the program and prevent it from restarting itself. All you need do is locate the program and stop the program and delete the executable file from your pc. I will tell you a general way of removing viruses and even the very naughty ones.

1. First task is to locate the program

i. Right click on the task-bar and click “Start Task Manager”
ii. Click the “Processes” tab
iii. Locate any suspicious executable program running (this is the most challenging task…be careful ‘cos you don’t want to stop a basic system process and cause more harm to your computer)

iv. Right-click on the process and click “Open File Location” (this is folder containing the executable  virus file)

v. oh! you say “but I can’t see anything here…” It’s probably because you have not set your system properties to show all hidden file and folder. To do this, follow this simple step.

a.Open any folder/My computer (Windows +E)

b. Click the “Organize” menu option

c. Select the “Folder and search options” menu item

d. Click on the “View” tab

e. Under the Advanced Setting >>Files and Folder options set the following parameter

select the “Show hidden files, folders, and drives” radio button
uncheck “Hide empty drives in the Computer folder”
uncheck “Hide extensions fro known file types”
uncheck “Hide protected operating system files(Recommended)”. Note this option will bring up a prompt asking if you are sure; just click yes.

/**see image on the right*/

f.Click “apply” then “ok” (or just click “ok”)

2. Stop the program / kill the process

i. Right-click on the process and click “End Process (Tree)”.

ii. If the process refuses to stop the open command prompt (type “Windows + R” then type cmd / click start menu and type cmd then “Enter” button)
iii. On the command prompt, type “taskkill /im virusName.exe” where virusName is the name of the virus executable file running. If the action is successful, you should see a message that says “SUCCESS: Sent termination signal to the process “virusName.exe” with PID 1234.”
iv. Now for the very stubborn viruses as porn.exe, sexy.exe, don moen.exe,…a simple taskkill command will not do. You need to forcefully close the program. To do this, add extra argument (/f) to the taskkill command. Type “taskkill /f /im virusName.exe”, you should see a message that says “SUCCESS: The process “virusName.exe” with PID 1234 has been terminated.”
v. Once you have successfully terminated the process, you can confirm that by checking the processes running on the task manager to see if the process is still running or not.

3. Now that you have stopped the process, just go to the folder you have previously opened (in 1-iv), locate the virus, right-click on it and delete or better still “shift + delete”. But be careful not to double click the program. And that should be the end of the naughty virus.

4. “And they lived happily ever after.”
